Thank you, Veterans

Yesterday was Veterans Day, story and I want to say thank you to all the men and women in uniform who have served or are serving our country. Thank you for preserving our freedoms. Thank you for selflessly putting your lives on the line so we can be safe at home. I recognize that many of you left your families for years at a time. You missed many important family events. Your children had birthdays. Your parents became ill and you couldn’t come home to care for them. Your spouses cried themselves to sleep because of worry and loneliness. Yet you were strong, generic and you kept going.

And a special thanks to those of you who didn’t come home, more about and to your families. Thank you to those of you who paid the ultimate sacrifice, allowing us at home to sleep peacefully at night. You will never see your children grow up. You leave behind you families who, to their dying day, will ache for you. Thank you for being willing to give up everything in this life in an effort to protect America and bring peace to this troubled world.

I send to all our troops–active, retired, and deceased–an inadequate, but heartfelt THANK YOU!

God bless America
