Customized Blog

I think I have the new blog all ready to use. If you try to do something and it breaks, online just let me know. As far as I can tell, site it is all working well.

I think this new blog will work well. I’m excited about it. One thing you should try is the different themes. If you don’t like the theme that I chose, what is ed you can switch it yourself. And the theme you choose is set by a cookie on your machine, so that theme will be saved next time you view the site. Pretty cool, né? Just so you know, as far as I know, all the pictures that appear in the various themes are mine and Christinas. I tried to update the themes to include our photos.

While you are viewing the site, note that different themes have different features. For example, the Blix themes has a calendar view when you are viewing the archive. (Change to the Blix theme, then click on any post title to see what I mean). And most themes will only let you change the theme on the main page for that theme. To get to the main page, click the blog title.

If you want to make a comment (I hope you will!) you will need to note something: this comment system requires that you create a login. This is to prevent comment spam (a computer sending a bunch of junk comments to the blog). You will be prompted to register when you try to comment on a post. You register by choosing a login name and by entering your email address. An email will be sent to your address with your password. When you log in to the site, you can change your password to whatever you want.

The first time you comment, your comment will be held for moderation. That means it won’t appear on the site until I look at it and approve it. Once your login has had an approved comment, future comments will not require moderation. At least that is how it is supposed to work. If it doesn’t work that way, please let me know.

I hope you enjoy the new blog as much as I do.

Have a great Thursday
